  9. Would love to come back and visit!! Have a few others I want to tick off first though!
  10. We did both! We did a Nile cruise so got to visit quite a few places! Was sad not to see the pyramids but I think sometimes visiting less touristy places is better, and it definitely was much more low-key back in 2006 or so when I visited.
  11. God this brings back memories!! Egypt is so incredible, I visited when I was quite young, but remember it being so unique. The Valley of the Kings is pretty surreal
  12. Paris is very overrated, dirty and full of scammers targeting tourists. Rome, Italy in general actually, is definitely the most romantic country!!
  13. I always got the impression from the bible that people were feared into following God, despite all the rhetoric from church that God is love etc. Wait till you get onto Moses. Poor dude did everything that God said, uprooted his whole life as a prince to lead the slaves to freedom, and in a very human and frankly understandable moment of weakness doubted God's plans, but still followed them, only to get told when they could literally see the promised land that he had to stay behind and die on a hill cause he didn't blindly believe in God's plan 100% of the way. That's fucked IMO.
  14. This might be the funniest unintentional TLDR I've ever seen 😂 I've read a chunk of the bible, could never claim to have read the whole of it. There is as much in there that you can use to debunk the logic of Christianity as there is that supports the idea of it. The Old Testament is jokes at how silly a lot of it is. There's obviously different levels of religious zealot and how much they "follow" the teachings of the bible. I think as society has evolved, so has the concept of right and wrong, and the bible is no longer the moral compass that some people saw it as over a millennium ago.
  15. Did he deserve to die? Probably not. Did he himself say that gun violence deaths are a small price to pay for the right to bear arms? You betcha. So by his own beliefs, his death was justified. And before anyone goes at me, the guy was a hate spewing hypocrite, but no that doesn't mean you can just end someone's life that you don't like.
  16. Finish my Christmas shopping, plan what food etc to get for the party in throwing next week, maybe finish setting up my new gaming laptop
  17. Wow a boxing day baby! How do you find that? Do people tend to separate your birthday or lump it together with Christmas? I adore Christmas, always have, we had a really regimented routine growing up that was around going to church, opening presents, having a big meal, watching some Christmas TV. Now my best kind of Christmas is just my partner and I, the dog obviously, presents, a nice meal, games and TV and lots of Christmas music! It's as much the run up to Christmas, getting to decorate, seeing family and friends, buying and giving gifts, that I love more than the actual day.

  19. Rain, rain and more rain here in the UK. Welcome to winter.
  20. Lol, fair point. A lot of frustration points from people in my life seems to stem from this attitude though. I can be a bit of an emotional brick wall sometimes if I want to be. And often it's much easier to be, so I kind of "switch it off" - but emotion is important to feel and work through. I'm trying to be better at that.
  21. I do this enough with things that actually matter - relationships, friendships, my job, my health. I prefer to just appreciate the things I enjoy in my down time without psychoanalysing it! Again, just me!
  22. I can be overly logical and focus too hard on problem solving rather than addressing emotional reality. To me, if you have a problem or are upset, then let's work out how to fix it. But some people want to focus on the emotion without jumping to a solution automatically. Which I appreciate, and am trying to be better at being more empathetic in that sense.
