perpetually got a reaction from K.C. in Pet Complaint Forum (Leave a Complaint About Your Pet)She stole all the blanket in the middle of the night and then made a cute face about it. I am powerless.

(Sorry Mishap, you're the best I love you and I'm kidding)

perpetually got a reaction from Onision in Fighting Who You Are...This is something I've been thinking about a lot recently. People tend to either think I'm brilliant or an imbecile - no in between - and for the same reasons. I find it hard to think in straight lines, I will always choose hope (and being disappointed) over dread and I am shameless about what I enjoy. I will run around the meadow laughing with my dog and talk to crows as I feed them and talk to homeless people and experience joy in the face of judgement. I will enjoy a catchy song even if my more musically inclined friends tell me it's slop.
I'm at an age now where I'm simply too tired to perform for approval

perpetually got a reaction from Onision in He Did What?! Letโs Judge Real-Life Situations Like a Courtroom (AITA Style)So my friend left his dog at my house. It was supposed to be for a few days while he got his place fit to live in.
Since then, he's flaked on three attempts to hand her back, made excuses and hasn't showed up. The latest was last night. I waited up til 2am for him to come.
She adores me. I adore her. But I can't keep her for practical reasons, and she's incredibly demanding to the point that she starts barking when I cuddle my own dog. I need her out of the house.
Would I be the asshole if I tried to re-home her, or handed her into a shelter? I would make one more attempt to return her, and inform him of my intentions if it is unsuccessful.
The one I have in mind is no kill, careful with who they allow to adopt, well staffed with ample volunteers and high attention/enrichment. He can pick her up from there since he's the registered owner, I've contacted them to explain the situation and confirm.

perpetually got a reaction from Onision in He Did What?! Letโs Judge Real-Life Situations Like a Courtroom (AITA Style)Thanks, that's reassuring! A friend suggested the shelter and helped me research to find somewhere that would be minimally detrimental to the dog if he doesn't collect her.
Though part of me thinks she'd be better off adopted by people who would properly prioritise her.

perpetually got a reaction from ParadiseLost in Longest Ride you've ever takenOne time I took a 24 hour coach trip back to Scotland from France. I love long bus journeys, but this one tested me. I braided my hair into 383737 tiny little braids, wrote a short story, listened to endless music, made a new friend and got a night's sleep. At least it was productive? :D
Also there was this young couple in the row in front of me doing PDA to the point that every fibre of my being wanted to scream at them to get a room. I ended up politely asking them to stop.

perpetually got a reaction from ParadiseLost in Your Biggest Problem & SolutionMy biggest problem right now is trusting people. Not that it's difficult, more that it seems to be backfiring lately
I had two friends reveal themselves to have ulterior motives recently, then a weird catfish situation that i never got to the bottom of. I've always believed it's better to give people the benefit of the doubt and be disappointed than shut myself off, but this is really challenging me on that.
I don't actually have a solution yet but I'm working on it.

perpetually got a reaction from ParadiseLost in Least Favorite ChoreChanging the blanket/duvet cover! My masterful technique involves flailing around with the whole thing over my head like a ghost. It's does work but it's not dignified and.

perpetually got a reaction from ParadiseLost in What are you most looking forward to this year? The Edinburgh festival! I've got tickets booked for a play adaptation of a Terry Pratchett book, I'll see one of my friends who only comes here to perform once a year. I usually go to a couple of the free shows and meet a bunch of interesting people. It's a good time!

perpetually got a reaction from Audra in "I Am So Unapologetically Myself"If it occurs to you to say "I'm unapologetically me", someone has probably asked you to apologise for how you're behaving.
"I'm sorry I made you feel that way, it wasn't my intention/I behaved terribly" isn't difficult to say unless you see it as humiliating. If you see it as humiliating, I don't wanna be around you because you don't care about my feelings.
The exception to this for me is if people have shamed you for being somehow different and this is how you are reclaiming your right to express yourself.

perpetually got a reaction from mary in Relationship AdviceYeah, I have learned this through being a people pleaser to the extent that I don't wanna upset my loved ones so I would rather suffer and not tell them they're making me suffer. And I'd always end up resenting them for not being able to somehow telepathically know what my distress was about -- deeply unfair on them. You live and learn, I guess.

perpetually got a reaction from Onision in Relationship AdviceCommunication! Address issues early. Humans can't read minds. Having a problem and not sharing it just leads to resentment, in my experience.

perpetually got a reaction from Audra in Your Bucket ListDeath Cab are top of my wishlist, I'm so envious! One of my absolute favourite bands to this day - how are they live? I used to adore AFI and Coheed & Cambria too.
Funny, I've seen maybe a third of those bands live too! Foo Fighters were almost better than their recordings ๐

perpetually got a reaction from Red Robert in Delete a Fictional Character From The WorldMy first thought was a asoaif character too (joffrey) but not because I think it'd make a difference to the conditions of the world. He's just a little snot and I wanna kick him in the shin. And I'm a pacifist.
Really though, Bloodraven or Littlefinger. The first Aegon maybe. That'd be interesting.
Really though, either Ross from Friends because I feel like the one time he made me laugh (Fajitas!) is outweighed by all the times I cringed hard enough to pull a facial muscle
