Death Cab are top of my wishlist, I'm so envious! One of my absolute favourite bands to this day - how are they live? I used to adore AFI and Coheed & Cambria too.
Funny, I've seen maybe a third of those bands live too! Foo Fighters were almost better than their recordings 😅

Thinking about it, that's probably also true for my answer -- how much did greed drive innovation? I wonder what society would look like if not for the many gluttonous old white dudes wanting to be rich and powerful.

We needed hunger and thirst to drive us forward as a species, I think. We'd have had much less motivation to work together and develop language and society if we could just have napped and bred.
I think I'd delete artificial scarcity, maybe. Or just greed, so everyone gets fed.

In terms of concepts, I'd delete our ability to dehumanise each other, greed, envy, the cognitive dissonance that allows us to think we're right while hurting each other

I'm selfish and unreliable. I hurt people inadvertently sometimes by putting my need for space over their feelings and not thinking how they'd interpret a situation.
When I know I'm objectively right, I am very stubborn about it.
I have less sense of self than I'd like to.

What holy books would you recommend? I'm working my way through the Bible right now. I'd like to read other holy books -- I'm making a list. I just did the Tao.

Unfortunately cutting people out of your life can result in them hating you. That would mean having a crazy person who believes anything as an enemy. Worst kind of enemy. So you don't cut anyone out. Just walk on eggshells.

My grandmother was a Christian. There was an immense strength in that. I'm sure it got her through a lot of hardships
But being around her was difficult. Because she didn't just have her own reality -- she imposed it on everyone else.
I don't have a problem with anyone thinking things that seem obviously irrational until they start policing anyone else based on those beliefs.
Also admittedly it seemed contradictory and silly to me -- she believed in God but not Satan.
Christian life hack: you can't go to hell if you ignore the parts of the bible you don't like? 😭
