I feel like it was the best decision I made and a lot of that is long term. Having kids is hard when they are young and I’m in my early 20’s. I feel like restricted a lot but as they get older I am happier with my decision. I think have as many kids as money allows and as many that feels right to you. I love a full house full of love and personality. I think becoming a parent is awesome. But that’s not to say it isn’t hard. But there are ups and downs. Just like work and every area of life. But breaks are important and when you are a parent you don’t get as many as a normal people with a jobs so it makes sense why ur perfect day would be a break. I think if people wanna be child free that’s great. I’d prefer if people who don’t want kids don’t have them but child free people are such assholes to people with kids. It’s like they need to prove so badly why being childfree is better.

I’ve also seen like an influx of people say they want child free spaces. I saw some woman came online to talk poorly on moms who take their kids to Costco… meanwhile Costco is mostly for people with huge families lol. And you know the classic, don’t bring kids on airplanes. It’s just so annoying. Many countries value children and family life more than America does. Sometimes I feel like America is starting to hate kids.

Also like child free people LOVE to tell you how miserable your life is because you had kids. And it’s insulting because these arnt just kids they are your family and people you raised and love. I felt like maybe 2 years ago I was a little bummed out on the stuff I was missing out on. Also not having parents to help with the kids sucked. Because I could never like “take them to grandmas” while I take a break. So that’s been hard. Also missing out the college experience and whatnot but now I’m happy with my choice. I get to grow up with my kids, I have a ton of energy to care for them. My kids are getting to a super fun age where they just love to try new things and talk about nonsensical stuff. Who knows maybe I’m coping lol. But I love my kids and I feel very fulfilled :)

Again, those people would not exist if everyone was like them.

The 'bitter' kind of people without kids like to use anything a parent enjoys that doesn't have to do with kids as some kinda 'gotcha'. Don't get me wrong kids can make some things harder, but also, they make life so much more fulfilling? Like, accomplishments and good things aren't just mine, going for dinner and watching my little humans get excited cause to them pizza is the holy grail, or letting them add a couple toys to the shopping list, it might cost a bit, but them being excited for the next 3 days over it? Priceless.

that being said, to each their own, but I'm glad I had a couple 'happy accidents' as Bod Ross would put it

also the monologue of how old and lonely they'll be just for you to halfheartedly recant and be like, "No, no, I'm sure you'll be fine" Had me cracking tf up

It's really weird that they don't get that - almost like they're compensating --- like, ok, no one wants to have kids with you so you're saying you want it that way? Or... is it more that you really just don't have it in you to take on the responsibility that huge?

Yeah exactly, I'd almost go as far as saying for some its jealousy. Those bitter kinds see they got all this extra time, less responsibility, usually more money, but they're miserable, so how could another person, with kids, more responsibility, less free time, possibly happier than they are? And its like buddy, cause there's more to life than whatever dead end job your working.

Becoming a parent was the best decision I ever made! I was completely asleep in life before I became a parent. I got to meet someone who is the complete opposite of myself and learned what unconditional love was supposed to be. I was able to see my own worth through wanting better for my *** and realizing I had better start modeling it.

Good for you - always awesome to see a proud parent.
