Most villains are forgettable fools who shout about power while possessing none. The interesting ones understand something the hero refuses to admit. They seduce you with charm, logic, or sheer conviction before they burn your castle down.
I want to know what separates a villain you remember from one you skip past like a dull council meeting. Is it motive?
Charisma? Cruelty with style?
A tragic backstory that almost justifies the treason? Or do you prefer the ones who are simply better at ruling than the supposed hero?
