Funny, I saw that post too just a little bit ago. I haven’t played board games in a really long time but I used to love Monopoly and Candyland when I was a ***. My favorite is probably Checkers though.

Monopoly is obviously a classic

I used to play another game called Sorry which was brilliant.

We have a pub round the corner from our apartment where they have board games that you can just pick up and play which I think is a cool idea.

A recent favorite is Root. I haven't been able to play it a ton yet though, it's a wargame like Risk (just with adorable critters) and takes a few games to get all the mechanics down and runs best with a larger group, so it works best with an invested, recurring group.

An unexpected favorite for quick games and casual groups is Deep Sea Adventure. My favorite way to describe it comes from a reddit comment that called it "a social experiment in human greed."

I would if I had one,but I do play with playing cards... Solitaire mostly. Monopoly was one of my favorites...we made up our own bank account amounts lol.

I love RISK but only when I have time off as it takes so long to play 😅

I find RISK lovers are rare.

I think board games get written off as either for **** or being tok complicated. Not much in between.

I mean, the complicated ones are the ones I think are fun, but I have to concede how deferring it can be to have to listen to a million rules in order to get playing

I have been playing a lot of myserium and obscurio with friends lately, but villainous is another personal favorite

I like the game doomlings, and it's easy to teach new players so nice for parties. My friends and I like to save our built species characteristics at the end and draw what they might look like.

My "weird" definitely comes out in games like that - most often I just bluntly say "I'm the warewolf" and no one believes me... until they realize I just say "I'm the warewolf" every other time I'm it.
