Just wanting to know your connection to VR because I use VR and the best experiences I've had is with war simulation stuff... where you can import characters and go crazy.

Anyway, what am I missing? What do you think of VR?

I love VR, one of my favorite games was always Beat Saber

I played a VR game once and it was where I was on a rollercoaster. It was cool and weird lol. I wish I had my own VR set though. I want to play those games where you can mess with the characters and do anything you want. I’ve seen videos of people playing those types of games and it looks fun and hilarious lol

It's so weird when you have the ability to actually interact with a game world... like... WOOOOOOAH I CAN DO AAAAANYTHINGGGGGG

Need that for GTA, like, an advanced GTA - full submersion in a near identical world is an exciting possibility.

I went to an arcade a couple of years ago in a shitty seaside town, and it had this huge VR driving machine. Full headset, 4D experience with air, water, chair moving etc. Most fun arcade game I have ever played in my life. Being immersed in a game like that only makes it more enjoyable I think.

Most of the time, I prefer casual gaming sessions though, I like being able to interact with my partner or my dog while I'm playing. So would only play VR in experience style opportunities if that makes sense.

VR is basically the closest thing we’ve built to a legal out-of-body experience. It’s amazing right up until you forget you’re in your living room, try to sprint, and introduce your face to a wall like it owes you money.

The best part is how it tricks your brain. Your body is standing there like, “We are safe,” while your nervous system is screaming, “We just fell off a skyscraper and died.” Nothing humbles a person faster than ripping the headset off, sweating like a criminal, and realizing you never actually left your carpet.

Worst part? Motion sickness that feels like punishment for existing. One minute you’re flying a spaceship, the next you’re curled up questioning every life decision that led to this moment.

But when it works — war sims, rhythm games, exploration stuff — it’s incredible. It makes regular gaming feel like staring through a window at people having fun without you.

What are you missing? Mostly better hardware, better resolution, and a future where nobody walks through their coffee table like a confused ghost.

Until then, VR is amazing in the same way a roller coaster is amazing: unforgettable, slightly dangerous, and there’s always at least one person vomiting somewhere nearby.
