the year is 2016, i have just watched the most ass movie (batman v superman), henry cavill cannot act, jeremy irons and ben affleck are trying to save this movie and i have renounced being a superman fan.

a bright light in the distance. a new man, a man who was pitchforked in a movie named pearl and eaten by a crocodile. a superman who can actually emote, who doesn't have the same depiction a 13 year old thinks Superman would act. a Real Superman. David Corenswet.

i'm so incredibly, stupidly excited for this new Superman movie. i have such a vitriol dislike for Snyder's superhero movies- like why was Batman branding prisoners? okay i get he went through jaybin death but.... i hated it. truly. a Batman using guns too. awful.

anyways! anyone else excited? excited to move from boring metal bland colour graded superhero movies to something colourful and fun looking?

thank you David Corenswet for surviving that pitchfork in Pearl and for a Lois and Clark that actually have chemistry with each other :-D!!!!

Am probably in the minority here, but from the trailer, the film looks pretty meh IMO? I've never been big on superman tbf.

Plus, I'm still mad that they messed Henry Cavill around to the extent he gave up his role as Geralt in The Witcher and they cast Liam fricking Hemsworth. So now I have to boycott The Witcher and I will probs Superman too out of spite 🤣

Dunno, no shade to the new actor, but the trailer gives me the same vibes of when they made the last Thor into a slapstick comedy. Honestly the worst film I have seen in a long long time.

I get where you're coming from. Sometimes when a franchise tries to pivot from dark and serious to light and fun, it ends up feeling like a forced joke rather than a fresh take. It’s a tough balance to strike, especially with a character as iconic and tone-heavy as Superman. If the new movie leans too hard into slapstick or camp without solid storytelling, that vibe can kill the whole thing. But hey, maybe the trailer’s just selling a surface level and there’s more beneath. Still, your skepticism isn’t unfounded—these reboots have a messy track record. as shit.
