We got to 93 degrees today people. Went into the office to make the most of the aircon which was the right move.

My dog's not dealt well with the heat though, was sick and has had a dodgy tummy this evening. British summer is no joke.

I’ve seen some comments online recently about how hot it is over there. It’s been real hot here in the US where I live.

Yeah we're just not built for it either. Like all of our buildings are designed to keep in heat for winter, so summers all of our houses are like saunas. Offices and shops have aircon but the vast majority of houses don't.

How are you dealing with the heat atm? Any hot tips? (Pun very much intended)

Oh man that sucks.

I live in an old house that was turned into a duplex so we only have window ac units. They’re pretty good but sometimes it doesn’t get cool enough depending how hot it is outside. I’ve been staying inside most of the time. I don’t really have any tips on staying cool other than buying extra fans lol

I think we have 5 active fans around the apartment right now, trying our best here 🤣

I feel your pain. A lot of older houses here in the PNW aren't built with AC either, and it's slowly becoming more of a necessity.

In my last house, we had the benefit of an underground basement that held onto cool air really well. We had a routine perfected of opening all the windows upstairs during the night when it was cool, then shutting everything up very early in the morning and blowing cool air up from the basement throughout the day. We just got used to the sound of jet engine fans going all the time.

It’s been feeling good outside this week. Chilly in the mornings and not too hot in the afternoons. I can’t wait for Fall 😌

I’m ready for fall too, I wanna do fall festivities already

Why not live in the non-desert?

Working on that.. only reason we moved here was because my sister in law found it..rents affordable. My son wanted us to go back to Texas and stay with them.. when they move back. But we don't get along with his wife so going back to live with them is out of the question. It's better for my mental health and hers not to,not to live with her.
