Did you have a nice Father's Day?
I had a very dad orientated weekend. Went and visited my dad on Saturday. He's out of hospital and doing well. He was very emotional, I think the prospect of almost dying is finally hitting him.
Then spent Sunday with my partner's dad who came up and visited us. So a rare but very enjoyable parent-focused weekend.

Currently reading Agincourt: Henry V and the Battle That Made England (history major). Fun fact: the GOT series was inspired by the War of the Roses, or the war between the Yorks and Lancasters following the death of Henry V over who would inherit the throne (his son was not well received). 600 years later, and he's still inspiring 💜

Have you read anything by Thomas Ligotti by chance? You're incredibly close to quoting him. I enjoyed his work, but don't particularly believe it. I've always preferred Nieztche and hold firmly to the belief that optimistic nihilism is the way. Nothing matters? Great! That means you get to make up the meaning. The human experience is basically a cosmic arena for us to test our endurance and creativity. Diving a little deeper into the spiritual side, I believe that in each life we are given a role to play. Sometimes you continue to play, sometimes you 'wake up' a little early. Remembering yourself can be very empowering. That this is just a game your soul decided to play.

I just finished reading the newest Hunger Games novel Sunrise on the Reaping and it was a really good book I love the expansion into the existing characters backstories

You know what scares me? Reincarnation. The idea that we get shoved down here on a 'mission', get our memories wiped, and shoved back out again. Wash, rinse, cosmic repeat.
